1️⃣ Learn how to change the Canvas size of your Live2D Cubism Project before importing
2️⃣ Learn how to import VTuber .psd files into Live2D Cubism
🚩 Quest 1: Change the canvas size in Live2D
🚩 Quest 2: Import the .psd model file
Before importing your model, we need to make sure the canvas in Live2D matches the canvas size of the .psd file.
For example, the model we’re using—Lua’s .psd—has a canvas size of 4200 x 7400 pixels.
Here’s how to set that up in Live2D Cubism:
Your canvas will now match the model's original dimensions, keeping things aligned as you work.
This becomes incredibly important later when we're rigging the model, ensuring everything reflects properly.
There are two ways to import a model into Live2D:
• Use the menu: File > Open
• Or drag and drop the .psd
file into the work area
Let’s walk through the menu method:
.psd
model file👉 For this lesson, select "Untitled Model (Model)" so we can keep working inside our existing file.
That’s it! Your model will now appear in the Live2D editor.
The model may look a little strange right after importing (like overlapping or unclipped parts).
That’s totally normal—we’ll fix it in the next lesson: “Level 1 - Stage 2: Clipping”
